What better way to learn how to dive than in the crystal clear, warm waters of Koh Tao?

No previous dive experience is required and upon completion of the course students will be certified to dive to a depth of 18m (60ft) with a dive buddy of equal or higher certification. The certification is valid for the rest of your life, meaning that you can dive with any dive shop, anywhere in the world!

What better way to learn how to dive than in the crystal clear, warm waters of Koh Tao?

No previous dive experience is required and upon completion of the course students will be certified to dive to a depth of 18m (60ft) with a dive buddy of equal or higher certification. The certification is valid for the rest of your life, meaning that you can dive with any dive shop, anywhere in the world!

The 3-day OW course guides students through a 3-phase process including Dive theory, shallow water skill work and Open Water experience dives.

Itinerary

Day 1
4:00pm – Orientation. Meet your instructor, fellow students, receive manuals, and watch the course videos. (1.5 – 2 hours)
Day 2
8:00-10:30am – Academics
1:00-5:00pm – Confined water training at a shallow dive site or pool.
Day 3
8:00-10:00am – Academics
11:30-5:00 – Dives 1 & 2
Day 4
6am-11am – Dives 3 & 4, Certification & finish!
7:00pm – Celebratory drinks for your new certification!

We meet up at our beach bar, Victor’s, for a special screening of your open water video and to celebrate your first night as a fully certified open water diver…Roctopus style.

If you want to try scuba diving but not quite ready for a certification course or you have limited time on the island. The “Try Dive” will let you experience scuba diving at real dive sites in just half a day to see if you like it.

If you want to try scuba diving but not quite ready for a certification course or you have limited time on the island. The “Try Dive” will let you experience scuba diving at real dive sites in just half a day to see if you like it.

The key to the Try dive is that you put your faith in us, the professionals. Only the most experienced Instructors lead teams of 4 divers or less.

You need no prior experience for this; you don’t even need to be able to swim! Our Instructors will give you the basic knowledge required to understand your equipment, the aquatic environment and what we do to be safe in the water. Then we will head out on the Roctopus Boat and visit our first dive site. Here we will spend time building confidence in very shallow water before moving into deeper water to explore the corals and marine life under the direct control of our instructor.

After about an hour in the water, we will get back onto the boat and head to dive site number 2 where there is an option to complete a second dive or simply laze around soaking up the sun and go for a refreshing swim.

Fun Diving at Roctopus Dive is all about getting the maximum enjoyment from your dives. To ensure this, we keep groups sizes to a maximum of 4 divers. We’ll also buddy your team based on certification level/ dive experience and comfort in the water.

Fun Diving at Roctopus Dive is all about getting the maximum enjoyment from your dives. To ensure this, we keep groups sizes to a maximum of 4 divers. We’ll also buddy your team based on certification level/ dive experience and comfort in the water.

We provide a dive leader from our full-time professional team to ensure fun dives are carried out with the highest of safety standards. Equipment is included in the cost, however, if you have your own gear we will happily discount your dives.

Dive site selection is realistic and always safety conscious. We consult with our local Thai Captain on water movement and site conditions every day and only set dive sites 1 day in advance.

We promise to take you to various dive sites as much as possible and for those divers that book on for multiple dives, we will try our best to make sure you dive with your chosen professional throughout your stay.
